The following document apparently shows that Caroline Rutz died on December 3, 1854 and that her 3rd child died 2 weeks later. I didn't understand the significance of the following document when a lady at the Gasconade County Historical Society showed it to me on August 4, 2009. I need to get more information about this document - where it came from, etc. This is a photo I took of sorted pieces of copies of original documents. Death information document provided by the Gasconade County Historical Society Apparently, Caroline Rutz is listed as "Frau" (Mrs.) Rutz and the child is listed as Rutz "kind" (child). This use of "Frau" and "kind" are used repeatedly throughout the document. The infant was not listed on the Aeolus passenger list, so I assume the infant was born during the voyage from Bremen to New Orleans. |
